The tabs helped simplify the navigation menu as I could separate 'actions' from 'navigation'. Earlier, we already renamed 'taxonomy' to 'categorization' and we move 'statistics' under 'logs'. + Grouped settings. All settings have been grouped under 'administer > settings'.
